The Full Moon is a time of culmination, making decisions, and bringing things to the light. Full Moons are bright beacons in the sky, and they can literally and metaphorically act as a spotlight, illuminating what we were missing or overlooking before. Perhaps even what we were too busy to see (or didn’t want to see).
This particular Full Moon is illuminating what is out of balance in your life.
With this Full Moon, you can expect an area of your life that is out of balance or harmony to be brought to your attention. Libra doesn’t do this to point out your faults or to show you where you are doing something ‘wrong’ but instead Libra wants you to be more in alignment with who you truly are.
Sometimes we go through life ignoring parts of ourselves. We’re so focused on our work that we inadvertently neglect our family. Or we’re so focused on our family that we push our spirituality and self-care to the side. One of the hardest things in life for all of us to figure out is how we juggle all these moving parts of ourselves. How we give them all time and attention.
I like to imagine all these facts of myself (friends, family, career, hobbies, nourishment, movement, spirituality, rest) as sparkling gemstones I keep in a box. And I need to make sure at the end of the week that I’ve taken time to take each gemstone out of the box and look at it, to admire it in the light and be grateful that it is in my life. Is this always easy? Nope. In fact it did not come naturally to me to do this, I was always walking around with the career gemstone out and letting the others just sit in the box without me looking at them for the longest time.
But as uncomfortable as it can be sometimes to put one gemstone down (like the career one!) to make sure I have time for another (such as family or rest) I’ve learned by doing this that it gets easier each time. And I feel SO much better when I do it. It’s kind of like exercising in general, I hardly ever want to do it, but if I just get myself to start, I usually start to feel better and want to keep going after a few minutes.
This Full Moon is square Jupiter and trine Pluto, making this a Full Moon where our sense of optimism and hope can cause us to overlook the more grounded in reality details. This Full Moon has an intense underbelly that asks us to look at where we’re the wool is being pulled over our eyes and we’re not staying true to our divine power.
Look back to the middle of October of last year to see what themes were occurring in your life then. This Full Moon is helping to wrap something up from that time. Some questions to ask yourself on this Full Moon:
- Where do you give your power away in relationships?
- Is there a relationship in your life that is out of balance?
- Do you tend to others before you tend to yourself?
